Hibs transfer blow as Rangers midfielder Ross McCrorie looks set to sign for Aberdeen

Hibs look set to miss out on Ross McCrorie after Aberdeen agreed a fee with Rangers for the midfielder.

McCrorie is expected at Cormack Park for his medical this morning, and will sign an initial loan with a "set fee to buy".

According to Record Sport Hibs made two bids before Aberdeen came in and met Rangers' asking price. McInnes is said to have been keen on the player for a while.

The deal means the staggered transfer fee would come out of Aberdeen's budget for next season.

Steven Gerrard admitted after Rangers' draw with Livingston that “Ross is close [to a move]. He has a couple of options on the table."

Jack Ross now looks as if he'll have to turn his attention elsewhere in the search for a new midfielder.
