Hibs team v Ross County predicted as Jack Ross has Kevin Nisbet call to make

A win against Ross County could see Hibs replace rivals Hearts at the top of the table.

The Jambos hit the Premiership summit after their 2-1 win at St Mirren yesterday but Jack Ross ’ side can dislodge them if they triumph at Easter Road this afternoon.

After Thursday’s 1-1 Europa Conference League draw with Rijeka, it’s all to play for in next week’s second leg, and the Hibees will be hoping to avoid injuries against the Staggies ahead of that one whilst also picking up maximum points.

Ross might choose to make one or two changes with that in mind, although he might be forced into at least one.

Kevin Nisbet was forced off with a dead leg during the Euro clash and while Ross was hopeful he’d be okay for the trip to Croatia, it’s unlikely he’ll be risked if there’s any doubts over him this weekend.

That could see a return to the starting line up for Chrstian Doidge. The Welsh striker made a scoring appearance off the bench against Motherwell the previous week and was unlucky not to start in Europe.

Josh Doig remains close to a move away from the club and he hasn’t featured in their last two games as things are thrashed out behind the scenes, so expect Lewis Stevenson to continue at left back.

Predicted Hibs team: Macey, McGinn, Porteous, Hanlon, Stevenson, Murphy, Newell, Doyle-Hayes, Magennis, Boyle, Doidge.
