Hibs team news v St Johnstone as Jack Ross restores duo and makes huge Christian Doidge call

Jack Ross has named his team for Hibernian's Scottish Premiership clash at St Johnstone - and there are four changes including returns for Kevin Nisbet and Ryan Porteous.

The Easter Road side were given a reality check in their bid for European football last week when they were turned over by Motherwell in Leith thanks to strikes from Jordan Roberts and Devante Cole.

The men in green and white are desperate to get back on a winning track at McDiarmid Park this afternoon against a Saints side still celebrating their history-making Betfred Cup win at Hampden.

A Stevie Mallan penalty was enough to hand Hibs all three points when the two sides met in the Fair City earlier this season, but Callum Davidson's men have proved to be a considerable thorn in their side since then, holding the Hibees to a 2-2 draw in November and humbling them in a semi-final at the national stadium.

Ross has been able to welcome back teenager Josh Doig for the trip to Perth, but the Easter Road boss has also named four changes in his side, including relegating Christian Doidge to the bench.

It means Nisbet is restored up front, with Porteous taking over from Darren McGregor at the back.

Alex Gogic is in for Jamie Murphy, while Doig takes the place of Lewis Stevenson.

Hibernian XI: Marciano, P. McGinn, Porteous, Hanlon (C), Doig, Irvine, Gogic, Newell, Cadden, Nisbet, Boyle

Subs: Macey, Gray, McGregor, Stevenson, Hallberg, Allan, Wright, Murphy, Doidge

St Johnstone XI: Clark, Kerr, McCart, Gordon, Booth, Craig, McCann, Wotherspoon, Melamed, O'Halloran, Kane

Subs: Parish, Tanser, Conway, May, Brown, Middleton, Ferguson, Gilmour, Denham

Referee: David Dickinson
