Hibs team for Arsenal friendly predicted as wait continues for Jake Doyle-Hayes debut

New Hibs signing Jake Doyle-Hayes is unlikely to be fit to make his Easter Road debut against Arsenal in Tuesday's pre-season friendly.

The Gunners travel to the capital as Mikel Arteta's side begin their preparations for the upcoming Premier League season.

The home side meanwhile are preparing for a crack at the Europa Conference League but they have a number of absentees to contend with.

Striker Christian Doidge won't be featuring despite Jack Ross confirming he's returned to training following a bout with Covid during the week.

Left-back Josh Doig has also been affected by the virus while Ross also confirmed Jake Doyle-Hayes and Jamie Murphy have picked up some minor injuries during the close season.

Apart from that it's pretty much a full strength squad, though Hibs could rotate slightly from the side that drew 1-1 with Stoke City on Friday.

Matt Macey should keep his place in goal to come up against his former club – while any absence of Stevie Mallan will be a giveaway that rumours linking him with another Turkey move have some truth behind them.

Predicted Hibs team: Macey, Stevenson, Porteous, Hanlon, McGinn, Gogic, Newell, Allan, Wright, Nisbet, Boyle
