Hibs target Rangers midfielder Ross McCrorie although they could face competition from Portsmouth

Hibs are reportedly keen on a loan deal for Rangers midfielder Ross McCrorie.

The 22-year-old, who can also play in defence, is expected to depart Ibrox on a temporary basis this summer.

McCrorie spent time at English League One side Portsmouth last season, and Pompey are said to be keen on his return.

However, according to the Daily Record, Jack Ross wants McCrorie at Hibs. His Ibrox teammate Greg Docherty enjoyed a successful Easter Road loan spell last campaign while Glenn Middleton has also spent time on-loan in Leith.

Hibs look set to rake in £150,000 for the sale of Florian Kamberi to Swiss side St Gallen on Thursday, and the funds could help finance a move.

Ross is reportedly also still keen on a deal for Docherty but the Rangers midfielder wants to weigh up his options ahead of his next move.
