Hibs boss Jack Ross is reportedly preparing a swoop on Hamilton for Hakeem Odoffin, after losing midfielder Jackson Irvine to German side St Pauli.
Odoffin, 23, has a year of his contract left at Accies, so would command a fee, but the Daily Record reports that Ross is keen on the former Livingston star after Irvine moved to the Bundesliga 2 club.
Despite signing as a right-back, Odoffin was a stand-out in Accies' midfield, despite their relegation, and it raised a few eyebrows when he resumed pre-season with the Championship club.
English side Rotherham are also reportedly keen on Odoffin, who was a target for Motherwell and St Mirren during the window.
Ross is keen to get his side ready for their Europa League Conference League opener later this month, and previously signed Alex Gogic after his contract expired at Hamilton.
