Hibs striker Kevin Nisbet's move to Birmingham City is OFF

Kevin Nisbet's move to Birmingham City is OFF.

The 23-year-old will remain a Hibs player after the club refused to negotiate with City following the player's transfer request.

Nisbet is said to be really down after a potential £3m move down south - which would have seen the former Dunfermline player quadruple his wages - failed to come to fruition.

And gaffer Jack Ross will now have to pick up his star striker ahead of tomorrow night's trip to St Mirren.

It's understood Nisbet handed in a request after becoming increasingly frustrated with the club hierarchy's refusal to let him seal a move that would have not only earned the club a substantial amount of money, but also proved life-changing for the player.

Hibs were looking for a bid in the region of £3.5m to allow their prized asset to leave, but City refused to budge on their final offer believed to be between £2.6m-£3m.

Nisbet was hopeful a deal could still be done and was ready to travel down to Birmingham this evening, but in the last hour the deal is officially off and all parties must now try and put a messy affair behind them.
