Hibs star Kevin Nisbet close to life-changing move to Birmingham City

Hibs striker Kevin Nisbet could be about to clinch a life-changing move to Birmingham City that could see him quadruple his wages.

The Cambuslang star has been attracting interest from clubs down south after netting 13 goals in 30 appearances for the capital outfit.

Earlier in the week, a bid of £2m was tabled by City for Nisbet, but Birmingham have now upped their offer, understood to be in the region of £2.5m to £3 million.

The final offer is now with the Hibs hierarchy and a decision could be made soon.

Nisbet, a former Trinity High School pupil, was benched for yesterday's 2-0 win over Dundee United and didn't feature for Jack Ross' side amid the transfer speculation surrounding him in recent days.

It is understood the 23-year-old has not been pushing for the exit, but the terms on offer for all parties appear too good to turn down.

The Easter Road club were looking for a bigger fee and City have now increased their bid with the transfer window closing at midnight tomorrow.

If the deal goes through it would see the Hibees make a huge profit on the player they signed for £250,000 from Dunfermline in the summer.
