Hibs star Kevin Nisbet backed to escape form slump by boss amid 'difficult' period

Cambuslang star Kevin Nisbet has been given a vote of confidence to recapture last season's form by Hibs head coach Jack Ross.

The striker netted 18 times in his first term at Easter Road last campaign, earning him a place in Steve Clarke's Scotland squad.

Nisbet has netted just twice in 11 Premiership games this season, with four in all competitions.

Ross substituted the Cambuslang forward in Wednesday's 3-1 defeat to Celtic and he believes the goals will come for Nisbet. Hibs face Ross County in league action today.

“That’s one of the very few times I’ve substituted Kevin," said Ross. "I don’t think there’s any repetition in that.

“It was based on us getting fresh attacking players into the game and Jamie Gullan has been good recently in training and deserved his opportunity.

“It will come for Kevin. He’s in one of those runs that strikers find difficult but he has to work his way through it as well.

“He’s got to produce a work ethic on the pitch that will get him into positions where he will start scoring goals again.”
