Hibs sign Rocky Bushiri in permanent transfer from Norwich City

ROCKY BUSHIRI has joined Hibs on a permanent basis.

The 22-year-old defender has signed from Norwich City after an initial loan period in the second-half of last season.

He becomes manager Lee Johnson's third signing of the summer.

The centre-back will join his teammates for pre-season on Saturday, June 18.

A Hibs statement reads: "We can confirm that Rocky Bushiri has extended his stay at Hibernian FC by joining permanently from English Championship side Norwich City.

"The 22-year-old centre-half has penned a three-year deal with the Club after an option in his original loan agreement was triggered through a certain number of appearances. The terms of the agreement will remain undisclosed.

"Bushiri, who caught the eye in Belgium becoming the youngest-ever debutant for KV Oostende, came to Easter Road in January 2022. He made his debut against Celtic and went on to make 15 appearances.

"A strong, powerful centre-half, Bushiri will now join his teammates for pre-season at HTC on Saturday 18 June."

Hibernian FC Manager Lee Johnson said: “Rocky has a lot of attributes to be a successful in his career.

“He has obvious strengths and it’ll be interesting to see how quickly he can adapt to a new playing style.”

Head of Recruitment Ian Gordon added: “Rocky is just 22, has played over 80 senior matches, and has a lot of room for improvement. We believe we can add value to him that’ll benefit the Club in the future.”
