Hibs sign Clyde keeper David Mitchell

Hibernian have announced the signing of goalkeeper David Mitchell from League One Clyde to provide competition for Matt Macey and Kevin Dabrowski.

The 31-year-old has signed at Easter Road until 2023 for an undisclosed fee and his exit from Broadwood follows the arrival of Neil Parry from Alloa last week.

After announcing the deal just before the midnight deadline, Hibs goalkeeping coach Craig Samson told the club website: “We had a desire to add a third senior goalkeeper to the group and one that has a lot of experience of Scottish football.

“David completely fits that profile. He arrives at the club with a lot of experience in Scottish football playing throughout the pyramid and that will only benefit Matt and Kevin.

“David will work hard, drive the standard in training, compete with our other two goalkeepers, and help progress them as they continue to develop.”

A statement from Clyde read: "The club can confirm that goalkeeper David Mitchell has moved to cinch Premiership side Hibernian for an undisclosed fee.

"Everyone at Clyde thanks David for his significant contribution over his time with the club and wish him the very best for the future."
