Hibs 'set' for £6m cash injection from Edinburgh born tycoon

Hibs are reportedly in line for a £6million cash investment from an Edinburgh-born businessman.

According to the Sun , talks have been on-going for months and the Easter Road hierarchy believe they could be able to announce a deal this week.

The unnamed tycoon was born in the Scottish capital but made his fortune Stateside.

He is said to have been shown around the stadium when Hibs took on Rangers at the end of last season as James Tavernier was confronted by a home supporter.

Leeann Dempster still managed to illicit a cash injection that is reported to be worth around £6m for the Leith side.

It would further enhance Paul Heckingbottom ’s transfer budget, with the Englishman having already signed six new players.

The latest – which arrived yesterday – is keeper Chris Maxwell from Preston North End. He has come on loan for the rest of the season but as his Deepdale contract is up at the end of next season, Hibs would be able to secure him permanently as a free agent should he impress.

Heckingbottom has also secured Scott Allan , Adam Jackson, Joe Newell, Chris Doidge and Tom James.
