Hibs are in talks with Brighton over an official link-up.
The Easter Road outfit have held initial discussions with the English Premier League side.
Dialogue is on-going and things are still at a very early stage but it could open the door for Hibs to take some of Brighton’s youngsters on-loan.
There are also possible other Premier League options for the Hibees but they have had positive feedback from the Seagulls.
It could also work the other way at academy level with youngsters getting the chance to join the Seagulls or to head south and train.

There are also other areas where the clubs swap information and other best practices.
England’s Premier League outfits have had to change the way they recruit for their academies since the United Kingdom came out of the European Union and new work permit criteria has now been put in place.
The Seagulls know Hibs have a promising academy, with the likes of Ryan Porteous and Josh Doig coming through and into the first team.
The pair are both likely to start for Hibs at the weekend against Dundee United in the Scottish Cup.
Hibs owner Ron Gordon is already open to link ups to strengthen his club.
They already have a deal in place with Charleston Battery, who play in the United States League Championship.
Brighton also have a similar deal in place with Coventry City in the English Championship side.
Both sides remained tightlipped on any possible move last night.
