Hibs seal Chris Cadden transfer as Jack Ross hints at further Easter Road arrivals

Jack Ross has hinted there could be further arrivals at Hibernian during the January window after sealing the signing of Chris Cadden from MLS side Columbus Crew.

The versatile former Motherwell man has become the Easter Road side's third new recruit of the winter window, following on from the short-term acquisitions of Jackson Irvine and Matt Macey.

The 24-year-old signed a two-and-a-half-year deal in Leith after making just 11 appearances for the Ohio-based side, who lifted the MLS Cup last year.

But while the Easter Road boss admitted any more incomings would likely be as a result of players leaving the club, he conceded at least one more addition to his squad before the end of the month could not be ruled out.

"It might be depending on movement the other way," Ross told his pre-match press conference in the build up to Saturday's clash with Kilmarnock.

"I can't say for certain but I'd expect some shuffling of the squad between now and the end of the month."

Cadden made more than 100 appearances for The Steelmen before leaving the club on a free transfer to try his luck Stateside.

That move proved controversial when he was immediately loaned to English side Oxford United, who previously showed interest in his signing but were unwilling to meet the Fir Park side's demands for compensation.

The Scotland international was a regular starter for Karl Robinson's men before linking up with the American outfit.

And Ross is delighted to have the Scot on board.

He told Hibs' official website: "I’m delighted to get Chris on board and he’s a player I’ve admired for some time.

“Players like Chris are a manager’s dream because he’s intelligent enough to play in a few positions, with his athleticism and work-rate stand-out features. He’s also comfortable on the ball.

“His enthusiasm to move to Hibernian has really shone through and I’ve no doubt he will add something different to our group.”
