Hibs Scottish Premiership predictor as Easter Road side on Euro trail heading into festive period

We are edging ever closer to the half way point in the Scottish Premiership season and Hibernian have set their stall out as they chase a spot in the early European qualifying rounds next year.

Aberdeen have been the target for much of the campaign after recovering from their staggered start to shoot up the league into third with a win over the Hibees prior to the November international break.

It means there is little room for error, with any slip up punished at either end of the league table.

Jack Ross has spoken about 'breaking the season up into six game segments' as he attempts to keep his side motivated for the long slog that is this season in Scottish football.

Avoiding defeat to Celtic may have felt more like a defeat on Saturday, but could it prove crucial in the long run?

Aberdeen are yet to face the Parkhead side in the their 'other' game in hand, with the Dons going to Hamilton with a squad decimated by COVID-19 precautions.

The visit of St Johnstone to Easter Road this evening is the second in another of these runs, one that the Hibees should be looking at as crucial to their ambitions this term.

A win against the Saints would see Hibs leapfrog Derek McInnes' men - albeit temporarily - and would keep the pressure on.

All five fixtures leading up to Christmas, a day before the trip to Ibrox, are 'winnable' games, with three to be played at home.

Two away trips follow the visit of Saints this evening, with the Hibees visiting Lanarkshire twice in consecutive weekends, first Fir Park to meet Motherwell, then Hamilton Academical at the Fountain of Youth Stadium.

It is back to Easter Road for two fixtures after that, with Dundee United arriving on December 19 and St Mirren on December 23.

So how do you think the men in green and white will handle the upcoming run?
