Hibs Scottish Cup clash moved as Stranraer fixture set to be handed Sunday kick-off

The Scottish Cup tie between Hibs and Stranraer has been handed a Sunday kick-off.

The game was due to take place on Saturday with an early kick-off but the funeral of Prince Philip at 3pm has forced the SFA to decide to move fixtures.

And that includes the game at Stair Park as Hibs take on Stranraer in the fourth round of the Scottish Cup.

As reported by Edinburgh Live Sport, the game will take place on the Sunday at 12.15pm and be shown live on BBC One Scotland, as was originally planned.

There are another five Scottish Cup fixtures on the Saturday, including the game between Rangers and Celtic to be shown on Premier Sports.

Crisis talks are taking place at Hampden to try and find a solution for all the games on Saturday but it's understood Hibs game will be moved to Sunday.

After the defeat to Rangers on Sunday, Jack Ross urged a quick decision as he said: "It would be nice to know as quickly as possible. The governing bodies have to recognise that we don't just turn up and play football matches.

"There has to be an appreciation of the professionalism involved in it. For us to plan our working week, and plan our preparation and build-up for the game, players take this job seriously so it would be nice to know as quickly as possible and hopefully we can do that.

"It might not change anything for us but it would be nice to have confirmation as soon as possible."
