Hibs reveal striking new 'Thank you NHS' away shirt

Hibernian are to celebrate the efforts of health workers on both home and away soil next season - after unveiling a striking new second shirt bearing a message to NHS heroes.

The Easter Road side revealed their new home outfit would contain the words ‘Thank You NHS’ in lieu of a sponsor last month.

And the club has now doubled down on that tribute as they revealed a unique purple and black outfit to be worn away from Leith in the 2020/21 campaign.

The shirt features a black body, with sublimated stripes and purple collar and trim.

Hibs released their home kit bearing the NHS message to widespread acclaim in April as the first step in a season honouring those sacrificing their own health to treat patients affected by the coronavirus pandemic.

The club also announced their first home match of the campaign will be ‘Thank You NHS’ day, with hundreds of free tickets distributed to frontline and care staff and said it expected to hand over a “six-figure donation” to the charity supporting NHS Lothian by the end of the season.

Supporters will be asked to pay a £5 fee to have the transfer applied to their replica shirts when they are officially released in July.

All profits from the sponsorship will be donated to the Edinburgh and Lothians Health Foundation, which supports NHS Lothian through a range of charitable initiatives.

The club say they are planning further fundraising activities throughout the campaign.
