Hibs reserves return to winning ways with 2-0 victory over Dundee Utd

Hibs reserves returned to winning ways with a 2-0 vicotiry over Dundee Utd.

A strong team started for the hosts at the Hibs Training Centre, with no less than ten of the starting eleven having first team experience.

Steven Whittaker stepped up his return to fitness with a run out, while Ryan Gauld continue’s to be carefully managed as he seeks to overcome a troublesome hamstring injury. Thomas Agyepong started after getting 45 minutes in the last SPFL Reserve League outing against Rangers.

The Hibees took the lead through Lewis Allan nine minutes before the break. Sean Mackie delivered a deep cross to the back stick and Allan was able to send his shot back across goal and in off the other post.

They were made to wait to go further ahead, but eventually made the game safe with just eight minutes to go.

Innes Murray set up Oli Shaw, who drilled a low strike home to double Hibs’ advantage.

Hibs: Dabrowski, Whittaker, Spector, Johnson, Mackie, Bartley, Agyepong, Bigirimana, Gauld, Allan, Shaw. Subs: Martin, Donaldson, Campbell, Waugh, Block, Gullan, I.Murray.
