Hibs receive no new Florian Kamberi bids amid Swiss interest as English Championship quartet circles

Hibernian are yet to receive any new offers for wantaway forward Florian Kamberi, despite interest from Europe.

Swiss outfit St Gallen were the latest side to be linked with a move for the striker - who is set to be on his way out of Easter Road this summer.

The Super League side - who sit just two points off leaders Young Boys at the top of the table - are said to be hopeful of luring Kamberi back to his homeland this summer, however face competition from sides elsewhere in Europe and in the English Championship.

The 25-year-old has been persona non grata in Leith since making controversial comments over a “dream” loan move to Rangers in January.

The Ibrox side are said to be monitoring the situation and tested the waters with a repeat of the temporary swap offer that saw Greg Docherty move along the M8 in the winter window.

However, Kamberi turned that offer down, telling the Glasgow outfit he is only interested in a permanent deal.

English sides Huddersfield Town, Hull City, Middlesbrough and Norwich City have all been linked with a bid for his services, along with Polish outfit Lech Poznan.

St Gallen's Swiss rivals FC Basel were tracking Kamberi last summer but were unable to agree a move.

The Zurich-born forward started his career in the St Gallen canton with Rapperswil Jona before joining Grasshoppers in his home town.

Jack Ross seemingly paved the way for Kamberi's exit after he sealed the signing of in-demand striker Kevin Nisbet from Dunfermline on Friday.

Sources previously told Edinburgh Live a permanent deal for the striker was being 'worked on' after the Rangers move was knocked back.
