Ofir Marciano - 7
A virtual bystander, though he made an odd choice to punch what looked like a straight forward free kick early in the second half.
Darren McGregor - 6
Fairly comfortable before being replaced by Porteous at the break.
Paul Hanlon - 6
A few ropey moments, but generally solid in difficult defensive conditions.
Paul McGinn - 6
A good performance up until he lost Dylan Connolly for the St Mirren goal, otherwise his reliable self.
Josh Doig - 7
Kept going right until the very end. A game where the Hibs youngster was quiet, but assured in everything he did.
Chris Cadden - 6
Energetic, but didn’t quite match his performance level from the win over Dundee United.
Alex Gogic - 6
Another decent showing from the Cypriot enforcer in the middle of the pitch, who seems to have rediscovered a little bit of the form he lost from early in the season.
Jackson Irvine - 6
A quiet evening for the Aussie, but got around the pitch really well and put himself about when necessary.
Jamie Murphy - 7
His best showing since his most recent return from a knock, a few good crosses into the box deserved more and did well to win the penalty.
Martin Boyle - 8
The Buddies kept the shackles on him for the most part, but put in a great ball for Porteous to head in the opener and took his penalty well.
Christian Doidge - 6
Scrapped well and fought for every ball, but probably needed more support up against the hosts’ back line.
Subs:
Ryan Porteous - 7
Attitude was spot on right from the start of the second half when he replaced McGregor. Got his goal and despite some...interesting play at the back with Marciano, looked a lot better.
Could have let the past few days get to him, but immediately got back to being a nuisance for defenders and was crucial in winning the corner for the opener.
Kyle Magennis - N/A
Came on with 30 seconds to play.
