Hibs player ratings from win at Motherwell as second half blitz downs Steelmen

Ruthless Hibernian continued their impressive run away from home as a second half blitz secured a 3-0 win over Motherwell at Fir Park.

Goals from Martin Boyle, Christian Doidge and a first Hibs strike for Stephen McGinn secured all three points to put the men in green and white third in the Scottish Premiership.

We could have two separate ratings here for the first and second periods after a dire opening 45 minutes from both sides produced precious little in the way of goalmouth action.

But Jack Ross will be delighted by how his players responded after the break as they moved eight points clear of their opponents.

Here is how the players rated in an impressive showing at Fir Park:

Ofir Marciano - 7

Never really troubled in the second half, other than taking a whack from Tony Watt, but didn't look comfortable when dealing with an Allan Campbell strike that was straight at him in the opening 45.

Paul McGinn - 8

Solid as a rock and should have had an assist for Martin Boyle before he actually scored.

Paul Hanlon - 8

A very impressive return from injury for the Easter Road stalwart.

Ryan Porteous - 8

Looked a little bit erratic early on, but became a commanding presence in the second period.

Lewis Stevenson - 8

The fight for the left back jersey takes another twist after the club legend put in a solid display here.

Melker Hallberg - 7

Occasionally slack with his passing, but a clever cross for Boyle's goal before going off injured.

Drey Wright - 7

Didn't have the same influence as his midfield cohorts, but some nice touches in the second half.

Joe Newell - 8

Provided Hibs' best moment of the opening period when he left two Motherwell players for dead in midfield with a brilliant bit of skill.

Jamie Murphy - 7

Identified by the Steelmen as the danger man early on and shackled for most of the first half, but still able to influence the game.

Martin Boyle - 8

A superb finish for the first goal and some nice runs that should do his confidence the world of good.

Kevin Nisbet - 7

A quiet showing for the forward, but still put himself about.

Subs:

Christian Doidge - 8

A man who needed a goal and got it in style.

Stephen McGinn - 7

Did his job well when he came on and got on the scoresheet.

Jamie Gullan - 7

Really neat pull back for McGinn's goal after being thrown on with 15 minutes left.
