Hibs news headlines as winger departs but goalkeeper is set to arrive on loan

Here are your Hibs headlines for Wednesday 2 September

Horgan departs

Irish winger Daryl Horgan left Easter Road after signing a two-year deal with English Championship new boys Wycombe Wanderers.

Jack Ross confirmed at the weekend the Horgan would likely be moving on this week, and he’ll link up with former Hearts striker Uche Ikpeazu at Adams Park.

With just a year left on his deal at the Hibees, the club decided to accept an undisclosed fee for Horgan rather than letting leave for free at the end of this season.

Keeper set to join on loan

QPR goalkeeper Dillon Barnes is set to arrive at Easter Road on loan.

Jack Ross is seeking competition for number one Ofir Marciano, who faces Scotland for Israel this Friday night at Hampden.

With just youngster Kevin Dabrowski as back up following Adam Bogdan’s departure, Ross was keen to have another stopper in the squad to provide cover and help push Marciano.

Porteous wants more Scotland action

The centre back is on international duty with Scotland Under 21s ahead of their game in Lithuania next week, but is desperate to get back to Steve Clarke’s full squad.

Porteous was called up for last November’s fixtures against Cyprus and Kazakhstan, but didn’t feature in either game.

However, even the level of ability on show at training was an eye opener for him, and it’s his ambition to play well enough to earn another recall as soon as possible.
