Hibs' Murray Johnson set for Wolves switch as Leeds United take another young star on trial

Murray Johnson could be set for £250,000 move from Hibs to Wolves.

The highly rated teenage goalkeeper recently spent a week training with English Premier League leaders Manchester City.

But there has also been interest from Leicester City and Wolves, with the latter set to tempt the youngster away from Easter Road.

The Daily Record reports that a deal is close to being struck that would see Johnson head to the Midlands this summer.

And it could net the Hibees up to a quarter of a million.

Johnson recently signed a new deal with the club and has been training with Jack Ross ’ first team.

But the Molineux club, who have former Hearts boss Ian Cathro on their coaching staff, seem to have won the race for his signature with an incentivised offer that is understood to have add ons built in as Johnston progresses.

There’s set to be something of a goalkeeping exodus from Leith this summer, with number one Ofir Marciano not signing a new contract and back up Matt Macey’s deal set to expire at the end of the season.

And Scotland youth international Johnson might not be the only young talent heading south.

Midfielder Ethan Laidlaw, who signed his first professional contract with Hibs recently, spent last week on trial with Leeds United.

The former ball boy trained at the Elland Road club’s academy but as yet, no offer has been forthcoming to try and sign him.
