Hibs midfielder Melker Hallberg has dropped a transfer bombshell on Jack Ross just two days before the Scottish Cup final by admitting he could be set to depart Easter Road this summer.
Ross and his squad are fresh from securing an impressive third-place finish in the Premiership this season, and preparing for this weekend's showpiece tie against St. Johnstone at Hampden where they could lift their second Scottish Cup in five years.
But it appears Hallberg has his sights set on departing the Leith side, with the 25-year-old admitting he's been unhappy with his playing time throughout this season.
Hallberg, in an interview with Swedish publication Barometern, said: "I have another year of my contract and we will see what happens.
"I have not been allowed to play as much as I want and that's part of football I suppose.
"But if it's another year of how it has been, then I don't know whether to stay.
"Absolutely I'm open for a move. It may sound insane, but you have to think about yourself too.
"I'm a football player in the best years of my career now. At the same time, I will have to talk to the club as well, to see what their plans are.
"I've always said I want to end my career one day back at Kalmar, but I am not thinking about that just now. I feel like I have few more years abroad in me."
Halleberg has actually made 34 appearances in all competitions this season, including in the 2-0 win over Dundee United in the Scottish Cup final, but only managed 12 starts in the Premiership.
