Hibs linked with move for Rangers winger Jamie Murphy as 'talks' are held over transfer

Hibs are being linked with a move for Rangers winger Jamie Murphy, and talks have reportedly taken place over a transfer.

The 31-year-old has been on the fringes at Ibrox in recent season and is expected to leave in search of first-team football.

Jack Ross is still trying to add quality to his side in attacking areas, and according to the Daily Record Murphy has been identified as a key target.

A permanent or loan deal could be struck, with Murphy entering the final year of his Rangers contract.

The former Brighton player made an impressive start to his Rangers career but was struck down by a cruciate knee ligament injury during a game at Kilmarnock shortly before Steven Gerrard arrived at the club in 2018.

He's struggled to force his way back into the team ever since, and spent part of last season on-loan at Burton Albion.

Hibs have already been linked with moves for ex Rangers players Ross McCrorie and Greg Docherty this summer.

However McCrorie ended up signing for Aberdeen while Docherty made the move to Hull City in England's League One.
