Hibs lineup v Rangers predicted as Jack Ross faces striker shortage for Ibrox trip

There will be necessary changes to the Hibs team that heads to Ibrox on Boxing Day.

Jack Ross knows he’ll be without striker Christian Doidge after he picked up too late yellow cards in Wednesday’s 1-0 Scottish Premiership win over St Mirren.

The Welsh striker was booked for a foul then again for throwing an arm at Ethan Erhahon just three min minutes later, ruling him out of the squad to face Rangers.

That will require a bit of rejig up top for The Hibees.

Kevin Nisbet, who was on target in the midweek win over The Buddies, could play up in his own with Martin Boyle moved centreally to try and support him and use his pace to catch Rangers on the counter attack.

If that is the case, then expect to see Drey Wright come in on the right hand side.

Kyle Magennis was withdraw at half-time against his former club although it was due to a bit of tightness in his hamstring so should still make the squad for Saturday.

In goals could see the most significant change.

Ofir Marciano had to be replaced with a hamstring issue of his own and is a doubt for Ibrox.

Dilon Barnes replaced him for his league debut and now could in line for his first league start against Steven Gerrard’s league leaders.

Jamie Murphy is ineligible to face his parent club while Stevei Mallan will miss out again with a knee injury.

Predicted Hibs team: Barnes, P McGinn, Porteous, Hanlon, Stevenson, Gogic, Newell, Magennis, Wright, Boyle, Nisbet.
