Hibs line up v Ross County predicted as Christian Doidge returns but Ofir Marciano misses out

Christian Doidge should return to Hibernian's starting line up for the clash with Ross County at Easter Road after serving his one match suspension, however Dillon Barnes will continue in goal with Ofir Marciano still nursing a hamstring issue.

Jack Ross has no fresh injury concerns for the visit of John Hughes' men, but admitted the men in green and white are unlikely to welcome back many of their injured cohort before the weekend visit of Livingston.

Israeli international Marciano was replaced by the on-loan QPR stopper during the Hibees' 1-0 win over St Mirren on their last Easter Road outing, forcing him to miss the Boxing Day defeat at Rangers.

Barnes earned plaudits for his performance at Ibrox, producing two impressive reaction stops in the 1-0 reverse and will continue between the sticks against a Staggies side struggling at the bottom of the Scottish Premiership.

Doidge received the first red card of his Hibs career in the victory over the Paisley side for an errant arm on Ethan Erhahon, meaning strike partner Kevin Nisbet led the line alongside Martin Boyle in Glasgow.

He is expected to be restored to the starting XI, but Sean Mackie, Stevie Mallan and Jamie Murphy are doubts, while Kyle Magennis suffered a setback in the win over Saints and may be out for a slightly longer period.

Scott Allan remains a long-term absentee but trained with the first team squad on Tuesday as he continues his comeback from illness.

Predicted line up

Doidge's return should see the Welsh hitman partner Nisbet up front, resuming a partnership that has plundered 18 goals so far this season.

Other than that, it will likely be business as usual for the men in green and white with a similar team to the one that started at Ibrox.

Alex Gogic may be the unlucky man to drop back onto the bench to accommodate Doidge, while Josh Doig is in line to continue at left back after his impressive showing up against James Tavernier.

Hibs predicted XI in full: Marciano, Doig, Hanlon, Porteous, McGinn, Wright, Newell, Hallberg, Boyle, Doidge, Nisbet
