Hibs injury latest as Jack Ross admits he's not 'flush with numbers' for Dundee match

Hibs boss Jack Ross has admitted he's not flush with numbers for this weekend's Betfred Cup table-topping clash with Dundee.

A host of stars are unavailable for the Group B decider due to either injury or international call-ups.

Ofir Marciano, Alex Gogic and Ryan Porteous are all away representing national teams while Lewis Stevenson, Kyle Magennis and Scott Allan remain out injured.

Hibs welcome James McPake's side to Easter Road for a 4.30pm kick-off on Sunday, with both sides on nine points from three matches. The winner will finish top of the group and secure passage to the knock-out stages – with the draw being made post-match.

The Hibs boss said: "We obviously have Ofir, Alex, Ryan Porteous on international duty. Lewis, Kyle Magennis, Scott Allan are still missing injury-wise.

"So in terms of the squad we're not flush with numbers. Probably down to about 17 and that includes two or three younger players.

"But we've managed to negotiate the group successfully to date and hopefully we can do that again on Sunday."

Ross knows Dundee will pose a big threat, but feels his side are well equipped to get the job done.

He added: "It's on paper the toughest game we'll have in this competition. I say on paper because we've had difficult matches in the tournament to date, but this is the highest ranked club outside ourselves that we play in the group stage.

"We always ringed it as probably being the pivotal match in the group. So we're respectful of the opposition but equally believe we've put together a good squad that by and large has had a positive season to date.

"There's an incentive for us to win the group and qualify for the next stage."
