Hibs hero Kevin Nisbet given Scotland all-clear amid Covid chaos

Hibs striker Kevin Nisbet has been given the all-clear for Scotland's World Cup qualifier double-header against Moldova and Denmark this month, despite the club being in "turmoil" over a Covid outbreak.

Chief executive Ben Kensell says boss Jack Ross would only have had eight players to choose from for last night's postponed Premiership clash with Ross County, with eight testing positive and a further seven from the development team and three members of staff testing positive.

A lengthy injury list means only eight players over 18 could be named, with league rules stipulating that teams need a minimum of 10 in the matchday squad.

With Saturday's match at Livingston already off, and the training centre closed and all training ceased until the virus is tamed, there was some doubt over whether Cambuslang's Nisbet would be able to join up with Steve Clarke's squad for the games against Moldova on Friday, November 12, and the Hampden clash with Denmark three days later.

However, Kensell said: "The impact on Kevin Nisbet is minimal, we expect him to join up with the Scotland team."
