Hibs handed Kevin Nisbet injury boost as Jack Ross delivers fitness update ahead of Rijeka clash

Jack Ross expects Kevin Nisbet to be fit and firing in time to face Rijeka on Thursday night.

Hibs travel to Croatia looking to progress to the playoff round in the Europa Conference League after last week's 1-1 draw at Easter Road.

Ross' team looked strong in that one but were made to settle for a share of the spoils, with Nisbet forced off with a suspected injury on 81 minutes.

That caused him to miss their clash with Ross County on Saturday as Hibs ran out comfortable 3-0 victors in his absence.

His omission raised questions over whether he would be fit for the trip to Croatia as Hibs look to keep their European dream going against Rijeka.

But he returns to training on Tuesday and Ross reckons he'll be fine to play his part on Thursday.

"I'd be very confident of him being ready for Thursday," Ross said.

"It wasn't a case of not risking him against Ross County. He just wasn't ready to go.

"He took a nasty impact injury but he'll hopefully train on Tuesday before we travel."
