Hibs hail support as club announce 'humbling' season ticket numbers

Delighted Hibs chiefs have heaped praise on their fans after they snapped up 10,000 season tickets.

The bumper numbers came after the club’s early bird and seat release deadline passed on Friday.

Punters have bought seats despite having no guarantee they’ll be able to sit in them any time soon and chief executive Leeann Dempster said: “On behalf of everyone at the club, thank you.

“We know not everyone is in a position to buy a season ticket and many of you have helped the club in other ways. It doesn’t come as a surprise but it’s humbling all the same.”

It comes after owner Ron Gordon revealed he expects the Scottish Premiership club's revenues to be down by up to 50 per cent next season.

The club remains in consultation with players and staff over proposed wage cuts after initially agreeing to defer a portion of some players’ wages back in April.

Boss Jack Ross said: “I’d like to thank everyone who bought a season ticket.

“Your ongoing support and loyalty is appreciated and we look forward to seeing you again soon.”
