Hibs' first batch of tickets for their opening Europa Conference League clash sold out after 15 minutes – and now the club have secured more tickets to push the overall attendance to 4,700.
Easter Road chiefs have been in contact with City of Edinburgh Council decision makers concerning Thursday's match at home to FC Santa Coloma of Andorra.
They were initially keen to secure 10,000 fans – which would have been the highest yet for a Scottish club side since supporters started returning to stadia across the country but just shy of the 12,500 that were allowed inside Hampden for Scotland's Euro 2020 fixtures.
Celtic were given the green light for just 9,000 fans before Aberdeen were permitted 5,655 and Hibs have been in on-going negotiations with the local authority.
Now the capital side have revealed an additional 2,700 tickets will be available to go with the standard 2,000 that sold out in 15 minutes, pushing the overall crowd to around 25 per cent capacity.
A statement read: “More Hibernian supporters will get the chance to welcome the return of European football to Leith when FC Santa Coloma visit Easter Road on Thursday evening (22 July) in Qualifying Round Two of the UEFA Europa Conference League.
"The club is happy that talks with the City of Edinburgh Council regarding an exemption to the capacity of Easter Road for the game have borne fruit and an additional 2,700 tickets will now go on sale from tomorrow at 10am to 2021/22 season-ticket holders only. This will take the overall capacity up to 4,700 for the match."
Meanwhile, opponents Santa Coloma have announced that the return leg a week on Thursday will be played in an empty stadium in Andorra.
The club said: “The FC Santa Coloma wants to announce that the home match against Hibernian will be held behind closed doors and no tickets will be available.”
