Hibs get Martin Boyle boost as winger set for dramatically early return from injury

Martin Boyle is set to hand Hibs a massive boost after revealing he expects to be back in action next month – weeks ahead
of schedule.

The winger has been sidelined since injuring his knee in the Betfred Cup win over Elgin in July and it was feared he would be ruled out until 2020.

Boyle, 26, had only just returned to the team after missing the opening half of the year following surgery on the same knee.

He was injured playing for Australia in December and was sorely missed as Hibs finished fifth in the Premiership last term and failed to qualify for Europe.

His return in July was seen as significant for boss Paul Heckingbottom but the fans’ favourite managed just three games before needing a further operation.

But with the Easter Road club recently reporting Boyle’s rehabilitation had been going well the player has given a positive update.

And asked on social media when he would be fit Boyle said: “Should be good to go after (the)
international break!”
