Hibs get Europa Conference League ticket dispensation decision from City of Edinburgh Council

A further 2,700 Hibs fans will be able to attend this Thursday’s game against FC Santa Coloma.

The Europa Conference League second round qualifying first leg is Jack Ross ’ team’s first competitive outing of the season.

Initially, 2,000 tickets were put on sale for the game which sold out in minutes this afternoon.

The Easter Road club applied for special dispensation to Edinburgh City Council in order to increase that number.

That has now been granted, with the total number of fans permitted now 4,700.

A club statement read: “More Hibernian supporters will get the chance to welcome the return of European football to Leith when FC Santa Coloma visit Easter Road on Thursday evening (22 July) in Qualifying Round Two of the UEFA Europa Conference League.

“The club is happy that talks with the City of Edinburgh Council regarding an exemption to the capacity of Easter Road for the game have borne fruit and an additional 2,700 tickets will now go on sale from tomorrow at 1000 to 2021/22 season-ticket holders only. This will take the overall capacity up to 4,700 for the match.

“Unsold tickets, if any, will go on General Sale on Wednesday morning (21 July).

“The initial 2,000 ticket allocation went on sale to season-ticket holders earlier today and sold out within an hour.

“Tickets are priced at £20 for season-ticket holders and £24 for non-season-ticket holders (should they go on General Sale). Seats will be available in pods of 1, 2, 3 or 4 for STH only.

“The club would like to thank the City of Edinburgh Council for their assistance in working through the application.”
