Hibs forward Harry McKirdy discharged from hospital

Hibs striker Harry McKirdy has revealed that he has been discharged from hospital after an issue with his heart was flagged up in pre-season.

Routine scans and tests identified the problem and Hibs said that the 26-year-old would need to undergo surgery.

In a statement issued at the start of July, Hibs also said that McKirdy would be sidelined for up to six months.

McKirdy, who was hampered by injury last season after joining from Swindon Town, took to social media yesterday to update supporters.

McKirdy also claimed he would start a new golf YouTube channel during his rehabilitation.

McKirdy said: “After 2 1/2 weeks finally out of hospital.

“Long way from playing football but not too far away from the golf course.

"YouTube Channel MckirdysGolfTour coming soon… what guests do people wanna see?”

Meanwhile, Edinburgh duo Hearts and Hibs have learned their Europa Conference League play-off opponents, should they progress to that stage of the competition.

Aston Villa captain John McGinn is in line for an Easter Road return after his side were paired with Hibernian or Luzern in the Europa Conference League play-offs.

The Scotland midfielder will be back in Leith on August 24 if Hibs can get past the Swiss side in the third qualifying round.

McGinn spent three years with Hibs and helped them win the Scottish Cup in 2016 for the first time in 114 years, before moving to Villa in 2018.

Also in the Conference League, Hearts will take on Croatians Hajduk Split or Greek side PAOK if they can get past Rosenborg.
