Hibs fans have been handed hope of attending the Scottish Cup final.
The Hibees booked their spot at Hampden on May 22 at the weekend along with St Johnstone in their fan-less semi-finals.
But there could be a limited number allowed in to see them try and get their hands on the trophy.
The Daily Record reports that the Scottish FA are set to make their case to UEFA to open up the national stadium in just under two weeks time.
Chief executive Ian Maxwell is set to speak with the European governing body today in a bid to persuade them to let some puntersa through the turnstiles.
Special dispensation had to be sought in order to stage the cup final given the stadium will be under UEFA’s control by then in order to get it ready for Euro 2020.
Scotland face the Czech Republic there in their opening group game on 14 June.
Maxwell had planned to point to Wembley as an example, with suggestions that the Champions League final between Manchester City and Chelsea could be moved there after Turkey was placed on the red list after a surge in Covid cases.
But that game is set to be moved to Portugal instead.
Aberdeen chief Dave Cormack has offered the use of Pittodrie for the cup final, while alternatives such as Ibrox, Celtic Park and Tynecastle were considered by the SFA, although the clubs informed them their stadiums wouldn’t be available.
The last time Hibs supporters were able to see their team at the national stadium in person was back in November 2019 in a Betfred Cup semi-final defeat to Celtic.
