Hibs fans furious at Betfred Cup exit and Jack Ross doesn't escape backlash

Hibs fans are furious after their side were dumped out of the Betfred Cup to St Johnstone on Saturday.

The Hibees spurned a glorious opportunity to win a piece of silverware this season with Celtic and Rangers already out of the competition.

But Jack Ross' men were outworked and outclassed by the Perth side who were worthy winners as it finished 3-0 at Hampden.

Hibs supporters are gutted their side came up short in winning a trophy, but they are angrier with the manner of the performance, especially in the second half.

And Ross didn't escape the backlash from the Easter Road faithful.

@DarrenNicholl1 said: "Absolutely awful viewing. Terrible defensively and lacking up top again. Another big game JR has lost."

@deanballantyne1 added: "Heads down and out as soon as it goes 2-0. Ross tactics second half sum it up, hoof hoof p***. Not won a big game since he came in.."

@KempJason tweeted: "Absolutely disgraceful from players to manager...a quite pathetic second half performance."

@Happyhibby1 said: "Ross is out his depth. He's failed in all big games and recently schooled by Ross County and Livi."

@21_dougie added: "Five semi defeats in a row- think that's a club record! Hibs cant handle expectation. Playing one up front has to be Doidge-Nisbet too lightweight. Liked Irvine & two excellent bits of Allan footwork were my highlight! Terrible defending, too many ball watching! Can Jack win a big game??"

@ hibeesfamily tweeted: "Could have been worse we could have all been there."
