Hibs 'eye' Ronan Curtis as Lee Johnson in transfer chase with EFL quartet for 500k rated winger

Hibs have joined the race for Portsmouth winger Ronan Curtis, according to reports.

The Republic of Ireland international featured 48 times for the English League One club last season, amassing 10 goals and eight assists across all competitions.

His time at Pompey looks like it's coming to an end though after four years, and according to The News, Hibs are one club with an 'eye' on the 26-year-old.

A clutch of EFL clubs are after him though, including Blackburn Rovers, Cardiff City and Preston, alongside third tier club Derby County.

New Easter Road boss Lee Johnson is said to be another interested in the attacker Portsmouth are said to value at around £500,000.

Curtis has a year to run on his deal and could’ve left for a fee of around £1 million as recently at January, but boss Danny Cowley didn't agree to his departure.

Johnson knows the attack-minded player well from his time as Sunderland manager but his former opponent's preference is to remain in the EFL.

It's stated though that a transfer to Edinburgh and the Premiership would provide the Irish international a chance to work his way back onto that scene.

A home match with Clyde on July 9th will begin Hibs' season in Premier Sports Cup competition.
