Hibs Europa Conference League tickets sell-out in 15 minutes with exemption decision expected today

The 2,000 tickets Hibs were able to sell for Thursday’s Europa Conference League clash with Santa Coloma sold out in 15 minutes.

The Andorran minnows travel to Easter Road for the first leg of the second round qualifier for what will be the Hibees’ first competitive test of the season.

2,000 will definitely get into the stadium, although an exemption application has been made to Edinburgh City Council to try and raise that number.

A decision on that is expected later today.

A club statement read: "We welcome the return of European football to Leith when FC Santa Coloma visit Easter Road on Thursday evening (22 July) in Qualifying Round Two of the UEFA Europa Conference League.

"We are in discussions with the City of Edinburgh Council regarding an exemption to the capacity of Easter Road for the game and we hope to have news on that later today.

"However, rather than wait on official confirmation on numbers, we know we can welcome 2,000 as a minimum and therefore that number of tickets for the match will go on sale at 1500 today.

"Should we get positive news on an increase in capacity we will add these tickets to the system for purchase as and when possible.

A win over two legs for Jack Ross ’ team will see them progress to face either Rijeka of Croatia or Maltese outfit Gzira United.
