Hibs discover time and date of fixture list announcement

Hibs are set to learn their 2020/21 schedule next week.

The Easter Road side finished seventh in the Premiership last season, and Jack Ross' men will be hoping for at least a top six spot this time around.

The last competitive Scottish match was played in March, with Hearts dropping down to the Championship after the season was called without all fixtures having been completed.

It has been confirmed by BBC Scotland today that the Premiership fixtures will be announced at 9am on Monday July 6.

Former Hibs Chairman Rod Petrie, meanwhile, has temporarily stepped down from his role as Scottish Football Association President on health grounds.

Alloa Athletic chairman and SFA vice-president Mike Mulraney will replace Petrie, who has been advised to take a "period of recovery" due to an undisclosed illness.

In a statement, Mulraney said: “On behalf of the Scottish FA board, our people and Scottish football as a whole, I would like to wish Rod a speedy recovery.

“Rod has been a pillar of strength to the association throughout this COVID-19 pandemic and to me as Vice-President. It is now our turn to support Rod through his recovery.

“We look forward to seeing him back to full health soon but in the meantime I will work closely with our Chief Executive, Ian Maxwell, to continue to steer Scottish football through the uncertainty caused by COVID-19.

“I would ask that everyone respects Rod’s request for privacy during his recovery period.”
