Hibs could be set for £6m cash windfall from new investor

Hibs could be on the verge of receiving a substantial cash boost with new investment reportedly imminent.

The Scottish Sun reports that an American-based businessman, who was born in Edinburgh, is ready to sink £6m in to the Easter Road club.

It is reported he was a guest of the club during the 1-1 home draw against Rangers last season, during which a home fan entered the playing field to confront Gers captain James Tavernier.

That hasn’t put him off however, and Hibs are expected to confirm the news officially this week.

The club have been busy even before any extra investment, with Paul Heckingbottom adding five players to the squad so far this summer.

Adam Jackson, Scott Allan, Joe Newell, Chris Doidge and Chris Maxwell have all arrived.

Deal for last season’s loan stars Stephane Omeonga and Marc McNulty looked increasingly unlikely given the money spent on Doidge, although new investment may reignite hoes of the pair returning.
