Hibs 'considering' improved Kevin Nisbet transfer offer from Millwall with package worth 'over £2m'

Hibs are considering a new and improved bid from England for star man Kevin Nisbet, according to a report.

It emerged yesterday that English Championship outfit Millwall had lodged a seven-figure bid to try and land the Easter Road star - who has 18 months left on his current deal. Lee Johnson will be desperate to keep him around for much longer given that Ryan Porteous is set to depart the club whether it is within the next week or the end of his contract in the summer.

Scotland international Nisbet has returned from his long-term injury on fire finding the net seven times in seven games including a hat-trick against Motherwell and that has alerted Millwall to make a move with STV reporting they have put together a package that could rise over the £2million figure with the capital club considering the offer at this moment.

The Hibees are going through a tough patch at the moment with their Scottish Cup dream coming to a thumping end at the weekend at the hands of rivals Hearts.

Robbie Neilson's men - for the second time in 2023 already - fired three past their city rivals to earn the bragging rights in Edinburgh. Josh Ginnelly, Lawrence Shankland and Toby Sibbick gabbed the goals at Easter Road.

The Premiership campaign hasn't gone much better with the men from Leith trailing Hearts by 11 points in third spot. They are however in the top six at the moment with a huge clash to come this weekend against Aberdeen.

Johnson has already added James Jeggo this month while a number of players have made an exit from the capital. Porteous is set to follow those heading out with the fans praying Nisbet is around come midnight on deadline day.
