Hibs boss Jack Ross told to stick to his guns as Billy Dodds claims routine is the key to conquering Rijeka

Jack Ross shouldn't be worried about his Hibs players missing chances against Rijeka - because the goals will flow eventually as long as he sticks to his guns.

That's the view of Inverness boss Billy Dodds who reckons Hibs have every chance of sending the Croatians packing in the away leg.

Ross' team had the better of the Europa Conference League clash at Easter Road but missed numerous big chances before Rijeka took the lead in the second half.

They responded well and got their equaliser through Martin Boyle but there was a feeling of frustration from the home crowd who watched their side struggle to put the game to bed.

It means the tie is on a knife edge ahead of next week's trip to Croatia but Dodds, speaking on BBC Sportsound, reckons the solution is simple.

He told Ross to keep doing what he's doing on the training ground, and the goals will come.

"It's routine. Just keep on doing the same things on the training ground and make your players believe.

"One thing your strikers are going to do is miss chances. But they have to take a percentage of them.

"This was for me the second most difficult tie of the Scottish clubs, behind St Johnstone v Galatasaray.

"Rijeka are proven against Aberdeen in recent years and they're a team to be reckoned with.

"Hibs still have a chance, they're capable of scoring goals. Just be a wee bit tighter at the back - they had the opportunities last night.

"They have the players who can get them goals, so it's a difficult task - but one Hibs could well get through."
