Hibs boss Jack Ross makes Kevin Nisbet scoring prediction ahead of Rangers clash

Jack Ross has revealed that he gave Kevin Nisbet a pep-talk before he ended his goal-scoring drought on Saturday.

The Cambuslang man's equaliser against St Johnstone was his first strike for Hibernian since the 2-1 defeat to Rangers on October, 3.

Nisbet was on a run of just two goals in eleven games but Hibs boss Ross believes the Scotland international is ready to go on a scoring run.

Ross provided words of advice the 24-year-old before the clash at McDiarmid Park and he has backed Nisbet to rediscover his best form.

He said: "I’m really pleased for him. He knows how much faith I have in him.

“I had a good conversation with him on Friday about aspects of his game, the bits he needs to continue to do well to give himself opportunities to score.

“I thought he looked at it. The goal in the first half was contentious but the finish was excellent, and the finish in the second half is what he’s all about.

“He’s a good player but that will help him enormously because he’s still a young man and he was frustrated by it and he was feeling it.

“I would back him now to go on and score regularly. He did it last season and hopefully this will be the catalyst for him.”

Hibernian welcome Rangers to Easter Road tonight in a repeat of the Premier Sports Cup semi-final which the Edinburgh side won 3-1, just ten days ago.
