Hibs boss Jack Ross hopeful of new recruits as he issues update on chase for Rangers' Ross McCrorie

Jack Ross is hopeful Hibernian can add at least another player to the Easter Road squad before the trip to St Johnstone next week.

Owner Ron Gordon dropped a hint that a deal for Rangers youngster Ross McCrorie was imminent in the build up to Saturday's goalless draw with Motherwell.

The versatile 22-year-old is high on Ross's shortlist and Gers' boss Steven Gerrard revealed the player was keen to leave the club in search of a permanent deal.

Ross admitted he was happy with the trio of signings he has been able to bring in so far, with Alex Gogic, Kevin Nisbet and Drey Wright all making an impact since arriving at the club in pre-season.

Nisbet and Gogic featured in the stalemate which preserved Hibs' unbeaten start to the campaign at the cost of equalling their best opening to a top flight season in almost 50 years.

But the Easter Road boss revealed the club are active in the transfer market as they look to bolster their squad.

Asked whether he was hoping for a new face at East Mains this week, Ross said: "I don't know, we are actively obviously trying to do that, whether that's progressed any further [by next week] I don't know.

"I think anything beyond that would rely on things moving the other way but I think that would happen if we get players in.

"But we are ok at the moment, I can't not be satisfied with what I have because the evidence is there in terms of taking ten points from 12."
