Hibs' Betfred Cup semi-final clash with St Johnstone has date and kick off time confirmed

The date and kick off time for Hibernian's Betfred Cup semi-final clash with St Johnstone in January has been confirmed.

The Easter Road side will face their Perth opponents at Hampden on Saturday, January 23 for a place in the competition's final in February.

Jack Ross's side squeezed past Alloa to reach the last four for the third time in four years on Tuesday evening courtesy of a Christian Doidge double at the Indodrill Stadium.

The men in green and white have faced Saints' twice at this stage of the competition in recent memory, winning both at Tynecastle.

However, this will be a first meeting of the sides at the national stadium as the Hibees look to banish the memory of their Scottish Cup semi-final defeat to city rivals Hearts.

The game will kick off at 5:30pm.

The other semi-final clash, pitting Livingston, who eliminated Ross County, against St Mirren, who shocked Rangers in Paisley on Wednesday evening, takes place at 4pm on Sunday, January 24.

Both ties will be screened live from Hampden on Premier Sports.

Then-First Division Saints came close to an upset against the men in green and white at Tynecastle in 2007, taking the game to extra time before goals from David Murphy and Abdessalam Benjelloun sent John Collins' men to the final.

In 2016, roles were reversed but the outcome was the same, John McGinn scoring the winner for Championship Hibs at Tynecastle to send the Easter Road side to Hampden.
