Hibs announce new shirt sponsor for 2021/22 Scottish Premiership season in six figure deal

Hibs have confirmed that Utilita will be their new kit sponsor for the 2021/22 season.

The energy company has an existing relationship with the Easter Road club, having sponsored some of their online content this season.

But now their name and logo will adorn the Hibees’ kits for the upcoming Scottish Premiership season in a deal worth six figures.

Greg McEwan, interim chief executive said: “The club has gone too long without a commercial front of shirt sponsor but it is also important that any front of shirt partner carries the same values as the club therefore I am delighted that we have exactly that in our partnership with Utilita who are a long standing partner and share many of our values.

"We have done some great work together over recent years and I am really excited to see the relationship grow, not only between the brands but the fans and local community too. The team at Utilita are passionate and want to make a difference and we want to help them achieve that.”

Jem Maidment, Utilita’s chief marketing officer, added: “We couldn’t be prouder to be Hibernian F.C.’s principal partner after what has already been a hugely successful four seasons with the club.

"As the greenest club in Scotland – and the third greenest club in the UK – we share many common values and we’re chuffed of the support they’ve given us in backing Energy High 5, a campaign which encourages people to cut down their energy usage with five free and easy-to-follow tips – saving both their pocket and the planet!

"We’re excited to see what next season brings as Hibs take on European opposition.”

It replaces the “Thank You NHS ” message that adorned the strips during the last campaign.

Rather than a traditional commercial sponsor, Hibs opted instead to pay tribute to the front line health workers as the Covid pandemic took its toll across the country.

A six-figure sum was also raised and donated.

The new sponsor will complete a brand new look to Hibs’ kits, with previous manufacturer Macron ending their five year association with the Leith club.

It was announced last month that Spanish sportswear firm Joma will be supplying the club’s kit from this season, which is due to be unveiled next week.
