Hibs and St. Johnstone fans attending cup final now in serious doubt, says Jason Leitch

The chances of any Hibs and St. Johnstone supporters being at the Scottish Cup final now look pretty slim following the decision to review Glasgow's tier level of lockdown.

First Minister Nicola Sturgeon confirmed today that Glasgow and Moray will stay at Level 3 for another week at least - while most of mainland Scotland is set to enjoy the easing of lockdown restrictions next week.

It had been confirmed that both teams would be handed 300 briefs each to distribute among some lucky fans, but now national clinical director Jason Leitch says the recent surge in Covid cases could well change all that.

According to a tweet by BBC reporter Chris McLaughlin, clinical director Leitch has admitted the prospect of supporters inside Hampden for the showpiece event on May 22 is in serious doubt...

Hibs fans will now be waiting for confirmation either way, with manager Jack Ross saying earlier today that he was 'baffled' by the decision to award just 600 tickets for the game.
