Hibs and Dundee revel in Hearts woes in Scottish football's tweets of the week

After five long months, during which absolutely nothing of any significance has happened involving Heart of Midlothian Football Club as far as I can remember, the Scottish Premiership has returned.

After such a long gap without top-flight football, you might expect things to have changed.

And yet, with the first round of fixtures not even complete, Kris Commons says Celtic and Rangers should make a £250k bid for the guy who scored Hibs' goals at the weekend.

In the last seven days we've seen the return of several other beloved staples of the Scottish game.

Sky Sports confusing Dundee and Dundee United's badges? Check.

Someone falling over live on TV? Check.

The word 'staunch' being deployed in a hilarious manner? Check.

Here's how the last seven days played out on Twitter.

MONDAY

If you're wondering whether we made it a week without a Scottish football fan uploading a video of themselves singing about Hearts, I'm here to tell you we didn't even make it 15 hours.

This was tweeted literally five minutes later.

In fairness, it's not like Hearts weren't providing material.

Rangers gave supporters the news they were all wanting to hear when they unveiled their new 'Official Logistics Partner' Seko (That's Seko, Celtic Da).

"Right Celtic get the finger oot" tweeted @supermick67, adding: "I'm no having them have an official logistics partner n we've not."

"Mate what even is a logistics partner?" asked @Jack70810891, to which @supermick67 replied: "It's a partner of sorts really. For yer logistics n that."

TUESDAY

Celtic were very much At It as they launched another season of writing.

WEDNESDAY

Dundee were very much At It as they launched another season of playing.

Easing of Paul The Tim restrictions is not expected until Phase 4 of lockdown.

THURSDAY

Sky Sports would have been offended by this thread, but it was written by a non-Old Firm fan so they didn't pay it any attention.

New Celtic keeper Vasilis Barkas was paraded in a kit that a Mrs Brown's Boys script would be entitled to call 'not very subtle'.

FRIDAY

Hearts fan accuses Hibs of being obsessed with Hearts in tweet he noticed because he follows the Hibs account.

SATURDAY

The Premiership finally returned on Saturday.

As did Sky Sports.

Some fans weren't content to watch the action at home.

The players couldn't wait to get started either.

Aberdeen not so much.

This pretty much set the tone at Pittodrie.

SUNDAY

One fan remembered the time Rangers threw away their shot.

Copy fellow bear.

Bold transfer strategy in Dingwall.

Celtic got off to a good start...

...thanks to a hat-trick from Edsonne Odouard.

Naturally, the final word went to Celtic's French striker.
