Hibs accept six-figure bid from Watford for Ryan Porteous

Hibs have accepted an offer from Watford for Ryan Porteous.

The Easter Road club will pocket a six-figure fee from the Championship club for their defender.

The Scotland international is out of contract in the summer. He's already made his intentions clear to leave the Edinburgh outfit come the expiry of his current deal.

It's reported by Sky Sports that Watford will pay around £500,000 for the 23-year-old.

It's believed that Hibs will benefit from add-ons and a potential future sell-on clause in the future.

Hibs are also preparing to lose striker Kevin Nisbet. Millwall have had a £2.4million bid accepted by Lee Johnson's side.

It remains to be seen whether Hibs will manage to recruit replacements for either player before the January transfer window deadline.

Meanwhile, Jim Goodwin will remain as Aberdeen manager despite the "disastrous" Scottish Cup exit to Darvel.

The Pittodrie boss was given a vote of confidence by Dave Cormack but warned there is an expectation of an "immediate response" from the boardroom.

Goodwin's position as manager came under further scrutiny after Monday night's defeat to Darvel - who are 56 spots below Aberdeen.

The Aberdeen manager had already endured a torrid run of form with just one win in the last nine outings before the "humiliating" defeat to minnows Darvel.

The Pittodrie football monitoring board met this afternoon to discuss the situation and had a "full and frank meeting with Jim".

Goodwin was backed by the board to continue in his post ahead of the weekend trip to Easter Road to take on Hibs - with Lee Johnson also under pressure.

But, chairman Cormack warned there must be an immediate improvement from Goodwin's side.
